Red vibes

Because I had to bring work for our Duo exhibition in Katwijk, we were in nearby Noordwijk for a few days. It is always difficult to plan, because you just have to hope that the weather will cooperate. But luckily it did ;-). A bit windy and busy with people, but I was able to work wonderfully. This Paintbox painting was also born there...

Wind & Bulbs

Took the chance to paint for a few days in Noordwijkerhout, it was really chilly and the wind was blowing pretty hard. But luckily I have my little pochade and I could still paint wonderfully in the shelter of the car. The way people react en masse to the fields seems to get crazier and crazier every year. No one seems to know how not to walk between the balls.

Last snow?

A bizarre weather change caused a kind of snow storm to set up at the end of the day on Friday. What I didn't expect was that it stayed down for a long time on Saturday despite the lovely sun...

Sunshine

Fortunately, the sun really shows itself again, there is no wind, so it is a joy to stand on the waterfront of my beloved Berkel. The banks have been mowed, but the new reed tops already give the world a fresh green spring color...

Sun and cold

Working at Landgoed Dorth with finally a lovely sun again :-). It is really chilly, but with the sun in my face and this wonderful view it is easy to keep up. A passer-by saw me working and wondered why I wasn't wearing gloves. I always have them with me and I really use them when necessary, but I prefer not to. "Isn't the cold bothering you then?" she asked. "Nope" I smiled, "I don't notice it". "Well then you are really in your element" said the friendly woman. She said well I later realized...

Bird friends

Finally some snow fell last night! When I got up the garden was covered with a thin layer of snow. And yes that only means one thing to me... quickly get dressed and go out, because then the white world is still at its best...

Flowers

It was quite a cool day, but one with very beautiful cloudy skies and with flowers appearing everywhere. Of course I couldn't resist. With a wind force two it is therefore the time for a large canvas. I also call them "en plein air XL" (140 x 100 cm)...

Early leaves

Nature is now really bursting, which is so beautiful to see every year. The world of the willows is also changing. Dandelions and Pentecostal flowers adorn the fields in great numbers. Fresh leaves are already on their graceful branches, the green is starting to get the upper hand everywhere...

Hiding

It's almost getting boring to tell, but it was another sunny day today and I was able to get out. The rapeseed still doesn't bore me, so I settled there again. When I'm painting, all senses are open...

Sun and joy

It's Easter Monday and it's insanely busy outside. The cars are parked everywhere, but even then you can disappear into the field if you want. I'm back in my hideaway at the rapeseed field, where the flowers are getting more and more exuberant...

Yellow haze

Time for some plein air XL paintings and lately I also like to make them vertical. That no longer fits on my normal French easel, but then I have this giant easel in use. And with great satisfaction...

Spring bulbs

It has become a tradition for me to go hunting for the flower bulb fields as early in the season as possible. Today in Noordwijkerhout it was still possible to do in this place in terms of crowds and I could paint "almost" undisturbed...

Sun

"Sun", what a joy in winter when the sun shows itself for a while. Even with 3 degrees it feels like summer in your heart...The fields are colored, the ochres now have the upper hand. Today I also fell in love for the old plant remains who are waiting for the new season. The sturdy silhouette of the cow parsley still waves in the wind.

Happy Holidays

There is no snow at this moment like in February 2021, but what is not can always come. I can't ski myself, but the ski suit is already ready in my car :-). I would like to thank everyone for all the support, the many purchases, heartwarming reactions online and in real life!

Frosty day

It was cold, frosty and foggy, but it was lovely. Well packed against the cold it was good to be outside. There is a frosty layer on the reed and the heavy gray world makes it even more special. That is why I can be found again and again at de Berkel, because nature is always so diverse...
