We have been living in Lochem for over 10 years and here I fell in love with the river Berkel. I can be found there at my permanent place in all seasons. A few kilometers downstream is the beautiful STEEL Museum. It takes its name from the well-known poet/agriculturist A.C.W. Staring who lived in this area...
When I was asked to participate with more than twenty Berkel paintings in the exhibition "Berkel in Image" I couldn't say no, of course. Staring wrote about this river, I paint the river and Museum Staal combines all this and much more about the Berkel in a particularly beautiful exhibition.
The exhibition can be seen from June 2, 2020 to March 28, 2021 at Museum STAAL in Almen.
