For large plein air work I have been using the Mabef M23 for years. It is strong, robust and with some extra anchoring I can also paint in strong winds. On the beach you hang a shopping bag with sand on it or inland I anchor it with a spider and large pegs. Extra large formats I simply put on the palette and anchor the stretcher frame to the easel. And paint away! :-)
