It is Monday June 17th and I take my stuff out of the car and walk down the beach entrance on my way to the festival grounds. It has become a tradition to show a small painting on the opening night and my plan is to make a small work. But uhm, no, I don't even make it to the tent )), because my dear colleagues and friends are streaming in from all sides, so the work gets neglected.
Life as an artist is often quite solitary, which is why it is so wonderful to see everyone again. Sometimes with a stomach ache from laughing and we eat together, work together and even sing together behind the easel on the beach )). Not to forget that we also work very hard from early in the morning until late at night.
The warmth, the hugs, but certainly also all the nice conversations about art and life make Schilderfestival Noordwijk a great painting party!! I have been coming there for years and my gratitude and respect for the organization is great!
