It has become a tradition for me to go hunting for the flower bulb fields as early in the season as possible. Today in Noordwijkerhout it was still possible to do in this place in terms of crowds and I could paint "almost" undisturbed...
At one point a car stopped and a lady came to have a look. She knew many well-known Noordwijkers and turned out to be a sincere art lover. After talking to each other for a while, there was a nice connection. She had already told me that she painted watercolors and at the end of the conversation she asked me if I would like a card with a small watercolor she made. That felt like a great honor and it touched me, because she only gave them away to friends and acquaintances.
We said goodbye and what a nice experience on just a sunny day at the waterfront in Noordwijkerhout...
